I've wanted a Tacoma for about 5 years and finally got one about a month ago! I got a 2017 SR V6 4WD. This is my 4th Toyota, after 3 Paseos (when I lived where it's flat) and a Rav4. I just had my dad's Subaru Forester for 11 months and hated it so I finally got the truck.
I am a woman who likes to keep a lot of stuff in my vehicle. I have had a lot of situations where I've needed various things and wished I had them in my car, so now I keep tons of stuff with me. I also like camping and prefer to keep my camping stuff in my car so I can always just go whenever, and not worry about forgetting anything. Shoes of different sorts, clothes, tools, blankets, sleeping bag, tent, cooking supplies, first aid, etc.
In the Rav, almost everything fit under the floor and didn't take up much extra space besides one box. In the Forester, I upgraded to a larger box because there was surprisingly little storage space. Well now obviously with the truck I have WAY less inside space. I put a waterproof dog hammock thing in the back seat which is great. I can throw my snowy boots/snowshoes/snowbrush back there without getting the seats wet. My giant box of stuff takes up an entire seat, which is fine, but I wondered if anyone had any good solutions for making the back seat area better for storing rather than carting passengers. I'm assuming the back seats come out, but I haven't taken a look at that yet. I did notice the small storage compartments behind the seats and also have backpacks on the floor. It just seems really disorganized and like I'm not using the space effectively.
Has anyone turned their double cab back seat into something besides seating?
