Details of the Boiling Point taunt cross-promo

For those who don't know, there's currently a cross-promotion going on in which you can receive the game's second Genuine grade taunt- the Boiling Point. It's basically an upgraded version of the Table Tantrum, in which Heavy is cooking a Buffalo Steak Sandvich in a sous-vide cooker, and it's not tradable. To obtain it, one must buy the Joule sous-vide cooker for $199 here. Here are the known details:

  • Gabe Newell was a surprise investor in the Joule company. To see the full story, look here.

  • So you know what you're getting into if you buy a Joule cooker: Sous-vide cooking involves putting a food, usually meat or vegetables, in a vacuum-sealed bag and placing it in water for 1-6 hours at a constant temperature. Sous-vide ensures that the food is cooked wholly, without leaving uncooked or overcooked spots, and that it retains the correct amount of moisture. It is a very accurate method of cooking, but can be tedious. The Joule system can be controlled entirely through smartphone.

  • Joule plans to increase the price to $299 after January 15th. It's currently unknown whether the taunt can only be obtained through pre-ordering, as opposed to simply buying at any time. If you definitely want this taunt, I suggest sticking to the safe side and pre-ordering it.

  • If this taunt is only available up to the January 15th pre-order deadline, it's entirely possible this taunt could skyrocket in value. I don't mean to sound like a broker, but we could very well have the next TF2VRH on our hands.

Considering it's not that much different than the Table Tantrum, it's a good topic for debate. Is it worth it or not? Say so in the comments!
