So tomorrow is the my “start!”. I am Male, 41, 308lb (22stone) and 5’7 with a BMI of 49! and been like this for over 20 years, only going up and down a stone either way. I am getting married end of month, my partner loves me for me - but I know she is frightened I am going to keel over and die too early.
Just before xmas had a heart scan and was told my heart has thickened (a lot!) which has caused a lot of sleepless nights since. Blood pressure is raised (need to start BP meds next week) and I am very unfit. So I know if I don’t do something this year - I am going to be on the way out very soon.
If I could - i could I would eat 3 pills a day and not eat. But I know those options such as the liquid diets are so bad you for you.
So i want to do this the normal way.
My current plan is for 1 month and see what happens, but want to try and lose 100lb by this time next year.
** Breakfast = Muesli / Milk / fruit or whole-meal toast / egg + orange or apple juice for breakfast ** Lunch = whole-meal bread, tuna, tomato and cucumber ** Dinner = steamed / baked salmon or chicken with at least one veg and then brown rice, new potatoes or pasta. Yoghurt for desert.
** Quality Dark chocolate discs for treats now and again
** 2l of water a day + 2 x diet coke (I know i know! but this is my major vice and will do my best to cut this out)
I need to get my doctor to sign off exercise - but if I can will swim 2 x week.
I don’t drink or smoke so that should keep things straight forward.
Really looking for some advice around this, i guess what I really want some help with is recipes to keep the dinners tasty but low fat. I love cooking, which has been the problem In the past. I am not a junk food person, I love organic, butter, cream and cheese! ;) And portion control has not been the best. So i guess I need to learn how to recook.
Thanks!
