[Oregon] Sister who works at a restaurant ate leftover fries, but got a cut on her tongue by a shard of plastic. Advice?

TL;DR: Sister ate shard of plastic, and could have swallowed it.She wants to sue supplier, but doesn't know what to do.

So my sister works at a pretty famous restaurant chain. From what she told me of the story, she was in the kitchen with a coworker and saw that their were leftover fries in a bowl from the chef cooking a large amount. When she took a bite she felt a sharp pain and immediately spit it out. Her coworker witnessed it, and there are also cameras by the food window that shows her taking the bite. Luckily she didn't swallow it, which would have been very bad. She doesn't want to sue the restaurant chain because the fries come from a supplier, so she wants to sue the supplier. Does anyone have experience in this? I know companies might have huge legal teams, but she could have been seriously injured if she accidentally swallowed that shard.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Here are photos of the cut and the shard of plastic about 2cm long http://ift.tt/2n9e1fy
