Advice on dog potty training?

I've had my dog for only 4 months. She's 1 year old. She can hold in her pee for up to 8 hours in a crate. She NEVER has accidents in her crate (unless medical problems).

She also doesn't have accidents in my room mostly because I think she associates my room as basically her crate. We're in my room most of the time.

However, she has trouble "holding it in" whenever she's NOT in my room. For example, if I'm cooking and doing stuff in the kitchen, if she happens to need to pee, she'll just go. I've been teaching her to ring the bell on the door whenever she needs to (she's making good progress). And I've also been keeping an eye on her to try to catch her when she does go. But I don't think it's helping and I don't know how to teach her to hold it in. She will go every 2 hours if we're not in my room. She's a 45 pound dog- she should be only going every 4-6 hours minimum. She doesn't have medial problems. I think its just a behavior/training kind of situation. Anyone have advice?

I do try to crate her when I can't keep an eye out, but she's perfect in her crate and my room so its more of a problem when we're in the rest of the house/ in different places.
