Help! Sliced garlic in curry

Hi everyone,

I've made a curry for my dinner. Instead of putting garlic through the garlic press, I thinly sliced it instead. I've just checked curry after 20 minute of cooking, and can still see the thin slices.

What can I do to make them melt? Or would I just have to cook it for much long?
