2 months ago I decided to go on the Keto diet. I'm 25 years old and weighed 200lbs at the time. I know this may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but it is overweight for my height.. and I have a gut that I'm not proud of. I wanted to really push myself to eat healthier and get more fit.
I tried going to the gym a few times a week.. that didn't work out. I couldn't get myself to go. I hate the gym. Then I tried Soylent. Kudos to those who can do it.. but I asked for a refund after a week. That stuff tastes like paint. I really tried but I just couldn't drink it on a daily basis. I want to enjoy my life lol.
I love food.. so going on a diet was the last thing I wanted to do. But then I heard about keto on a podcast, and I decided to look into it. It looked like something I could actually do! I started Nov 11 with my first bulletproof coffee. Since then I have cut most sugar out of my life, I've been cooking about 4 times a week, I eat breakfast (which is kind of a big deal for me), and I have totally changed my eating habits.
I've lost a little over 20 lbs. Today I weigh 179.4. My gut is still there so I am going to start doing some push ups and stuff to try and get rid of it. My target weight is 170 but I may keep going if I reach that point.
Also, just wanted to mention I haven't been 100% strict on Keto. I've had at least one cheat day a week if I go out to eat or the wife wants her favorite food (pizza). Like I said I love food, and I want to eat what I wanna eat sometimes. But, for me this is more of a life style change. I've been cooking healthy food, I've cut out pasta, bread, rice, etc. I've stopped drinking sugary soda and energy drink and only drink the zero/diet ones now when I do. I drink a lot more water.
This diet has been a big lifestyle change for me and has shown me exactly what was causing my weight gain. I can see now that eating healthier, cooking your own food and making better choices really does make all the difference.
Thanks to everyone here and thanks for reading. I have learned so much through this sub and I may not have been successful without you guys.
