So I made the very dumb mistake of just leaving my stainless steel pan on the stove (obviously after turning the heat off) after making dinner last night and totally forgot about it. Realized it this morning when I went to do dishes and had an absolute hell of a time getting all the crusted/burnt on gunk off. What are some good ways to keep that from happening in the future, if at all possible? Pan was also seasoned and greased appropriately.
Speaking of, if anyone cares, I learned that toothpaste and a brillo pad works surprisingly well to get that gunk off.
