Cooking

Ok so as my brother and I finish lunch, we kind of notice our dad just standing around the table, watching us. We throw our paper plates in the trash (he doesn't let us wash the plates, but doesn't wash them himself, so we resort to using paper plates.). Our trash can is quite large, so we just throw them in vertically and let the garbage pile itself up. Then as we leave the kitchen, he randomly screams at us to pick the plates out of the trash and fold them.

Then later on, my brother is giving my mom some tips about cooking, and my dad comes up and starts talking about how "You shouldn't take food for granted. It is very expensive, and u dont appreciate at all how there is fresh food every day you sit down at the table". Now, my brother was literally giving my mom helpful suggestions about preparing the fucking meal. So my brother offers "Well if you guys feel like you don't want to cook, I can cook some meals sometimes." And then my dad for some reason goes like "ok, then great. buy your own house, and get your own heating, and buy your own food." like wtf? lol I don't understand why he's being like this especially during the holidays. He always talks to us about how we're wasting our break each day, and not studying like we're supposed to, even though we are. He uses going to buy groceries as an excuse to yell about how lazy we are.

Edit: I find this especially weird because my dad does almost NO chores around the house. He's never cooked a meal EVER, and me, my brother, and my mom pretty much do everything. There's not a single day which he doesn't find something to get mad at.
