I have a silicone mold of a tube-extruded shape I would like to make a wax copy of that I am going to put into plaster to make a plaster mold.
However, when I get the wax copy poured and cooled it is impossible to get it out without breaking it in some way because it is fragile. It has a hole through the center, and somewhat thin walls. Here is a picture gallery of the object I am cloning with the silicone mold (yes I realized I was really wasteful with the silicone):
I feel like if I were to cut it in half it would be easier to extract.
Any ideas on alternate casting materials that will be able to be extracted from plaster easily? I have tried oiling it with PAM cooking spray before pouring the wax in, and while that helped a little bit it still broke because I cannot push it out completely.
