I woke up this morning and felt it was my duty to stop lurking and post; basically I collected 350k from my mailbox for the first time!I'll first give you a little background and then proceed to help all the little goblins by explaining how I did it. I decided to return to WoW cause I heard legion was great about 4 months before and struggled to make bank, even though I came back to 50k and a bunch of transmog that valued at about ~200k. I ploughed through, making enough gold for tokens each month and a little surplus to keep me going but on the way to my I made some long term or rather insanely stupid investments with my abysmal capital. An example being buying BoEs for a 101 Twink when I had 200k and then not having time to farm with her. Then something incredible happened, mat prices dropped hard, felslate in particular dropped from about 40g each to about 20-25 and they stayed there; gem prices also dropped significantly, raw gems only though. And here is when things get dicey, I had a friend who had a ton of gold and was more than willing to loan about 150k (at this point I had 7k liquid) and I took his offer; the game was on! Here is what I did next and although seemingly easy a few tips and tricks might help the budding goblins; the three golden rules being -
- Diversify.
- Macro Econ 101 - One wo/mans trash is another wo/mans treasure.
- Play the man, not the house.
All these culminate into a fourth - TSM. Learn to use it and you'll learn to love it, that being said it took me ages. So I'll begin now.
Mass Prospect, you new best friend! * I stress that you at least prospect 5k of ore, after reading alot it seems the more you prospect the less the RNG will shove its fist up your tender cheeks.
** Never sell the Raw Gems, unless ofc they sell for a decent price. The formulae being - Cut Gem - BoS - 5% AH cut > Raw Gem (I may have got this wrong but my math is horrible, that being said please use a calculator :P) *** Never ever sell your pandemonite and the red gem, find a 800 JC and make Sabers Eye; in my experience Int and Agi sells the best stick with that. **** Do not flood the market, undercut by 1c. ***** Gem chips are extremely lucrative, sell in stacks of 200 and dont undercut stacks of less than 200. If you find a stack considerably buy it and flip it. ****** Find someone that farms, be nice and get a constant supply for cheaper than AH rate. (This holds for alchemy, inscription and enchanting as well; the payoffs are high)
Follow these rules and you will always come out on top every single time.
Enchanting! *If you have the time, get a char with LW and get the level 3 Bracers. Even if you dont farm chances are that you can get your arkhana and leylight shards for much cheaper than the AH. Plus you get bloods and some Chaos Crystals.
Alchemy! (Not too familiar with this one) * I'd generally advice you to wait till you have a ton of gold because Flasks are expensive to make and sell for about 100-250 less than they cost. ** Do you transmutes from all expacs everyday. Get the transmutation master specialisation it will help tremendously. *** Post a variety of stacks with different pricing, Stacks of (5)1,(4)5,(2)10 and (1)20.
Trade Chat! Bark for suppliers, ignore the haters; they fail to understand why /2 exists. But dont spam! * You can get a ton of goodies for much less than they cost on the AH, flip it and make quite a buck.
Thats about it! Although this may be a crappy guide, it's not really intended to be one. I just hope a few of these tips will help you. Before I forget, check out the Lazygoldmaker and his spreadsheets they will also help a ton. A big thank you to him <3
Well I'm out now. Hope I helped someone!
If anyone wants to talk directly just add my btag Cocolupia#1841 and I'd be more than glad to have a chat with you.
