The irony of, "You're throwing away your eternal family!"

Funny to me how many times I've heard statements like this from TBMs aimed at apostates.

Meanwhile, these same TBMs prioritize the church over their family any chance they get.

Birthday party for grandchild? Maybe next year, I'm in charge of the YW activity.

Want to spend time with us when we come visit you? Maybe a little bit, but we have our temple assignments, plus cleaning the church, and your father is teaching gospel doctrine on Sunday so he needs to prepare for that, obviously.

TBMs have this idea that if they are faithful and valiant NOW, then the whole family will live in a celestial compound, cooking dinner together for eternity in one of the nicest neighborhoods on the planet nearest Kolob.

And all the rest of us sinners will be encased in one of those Phantom Zone glass prisons floating thru space like on Superman II (1980).

The problem and the irony for me is that they act like it's all about family, but they obviously don't prioritize their family HERE and NOW. So why are they so worried about it "in the eternities"? Sorry, mom and dad, but you've already thrown US away, and you think WE are the ones doing that? Sad.

Obviously, not every TBM family is like that. Maybe I'm just venting about ours.
