I'm jumping on the WOW bandwagon real late and I'm feel like im so out of my depth. Any advice you wish you had at the start?

I am playing as a Warrior Blood Elf, Paladin Tauren and just testing a Priest Forsaken to see how it goes.

I am getting a hold of the basics but sometimes this game seems so deep and expansive I don't know I'm missing something until I find it.

How long does it take to get to level cap? Is fishing and cooking worth it?
