Most healthy oatmeal recipe?

Hi all, first time posting here. Been reading lots of great advice since I found out I have high cholesterol (high LDL & low HDL) and high triglycerides. I've been taking lots of steps to mediate this, including portion control, reducing red meat in particular, more veggie meals, less alcohol, and more cardio exercise. ALL THAT ASIDE, I've always been a big fan of oatmeal as a healthy and inexpensive way to start the day. My question is: what is a good recipe to help get my lipids in line? Right now I'm just cooking in water with no salt, then adding a banana, tbs cinnamon, tbs ground flax seed, and a few walnuts.
