Guidance re: cooking with alcohol

Hey all,

I have not been drinking for about two months now. I have been playing with the thought of keeping a bit of wine for company, and use it for deglazing and such in cooking. I used to cook professionally before and often had to taste recipes containing alcohol. I do not believe it contributed to me lapsing. I also feel I would not be inclined to use it for drinking either. What are all of your thoughts on it? Is it "cheating?" What about products that contain alcohol like mouthwash? I'm not trying to split hairs here, just trying to stay safe. Thanks!
