Due to an emergency after shopping I had to leave 4 pounds of unfrozen ground Italian sausage in my car for 3.5 hours. I cracked the windows to try to keep it cool as it was 44 degrees and almost 5 pm. So the sun went down quickly and it was in the mid 30's when I drove home.
Is the sausage salvageable?
If it were just me I'd risk it, but this is for a dish for an office party and I don't want to risk getting everyone sick.
