This happened Friday.
A co-worker will be on "The Chew", a midday talk/cooking show with about seven different cooks.
Well one of them is this black woman who looks like some sort of Easter Island statue come to life.
For some reason I have a thing about her. Her face annoys me to no end. I can't let it go. It's just fugly.
I know how stupid, inane, childish I'm being. But I can't help it. She's the epitome of "How the fuck did you get on TV?!?" "Why are people being forced to look at you?!?"
Anyway, back to the fuck up.
This co-worker needs a picture of her co-workers as per the request of the show's producers.
So we all gather in a group to take the photo.
Mind you, there's one patient left in recovery, almost ready to go, with their spouse there. They are a black couple. So you see where this is going.
After the shoot, the co-worker reviews the pics and exclaims how good everyone looks.
And I, in my supreme wisdom, eloquence and comedic timing decide to yell out, "Yeah! Take that to the ugly black woman and show her!!!"
People turned wide eyed and mouthed "Stop it. You can't say that!"
Of course my face turned red, I'm hanging my head in shame and just rush to the bathroom.
Now I'm waiting to find out if I get a call from HR because if one of my co-workers didn't complain, the couple in PACU surely will.
I'll follow up if anything happens in a week.
