Is mine defective, or am I just doing it wrong?

Greetings,

I bought an Instant Pot(UO060) during the Black Friday sale last year and have used it with great success for a number of recipes. I'm entirely new to pressure cooking, but overall, I'm loving it.

I'm having some inconsistencies that I can't quite figure out, I'm hoping to get some help with. It's either me or the pot, but I don't know which.

  1. Broccoli - I've tried broccoli twice, the first time with 1 stalk of broccoli diced (about 3 cups diced). Came out perfectly. I tried this a second time, with two stalks of broccoli and the entire pot was mush. [Cooking method = Manual, 0 minutes, low pressure]

  2. Slow cooking - I've tried three different recipes(pork, chicken, and beef). [Cooking Method = Slow Cooker, 8 hours, normal), after 8 hours. The food was severely undercooked.

  3. White Rice - Rice I've done a couple times. Typically I do 2 cups water to 1 cup rice. First attempt was for 1 cup dry rice, second attempt I made 4 cups dry. Both came out great. The most recent attempt was 4 cups dry rice and the entire pot was mush. In each case, I used the "Rice" setting.

Whenever I used a recipe where it calls for using it on the Manual timer setting/High pressure, it's always come out great.

Everything else I use seems to go south on me :(
