Discovery-Cooking rice in the oven

I got sick of sticky soggy rice or scorched rice on the stovetop. I don't have room for a rice cooker.

I got a tip from a Dominican lady and she said cook it in the oven for perfect fluffy, non sticky rice each time.

I rinse my rice first and use a cast iron Dutch oven. I add a bit of oil and fry the wet rice until its dry. Then add water or broth in a 1.25 to 1 ratio. So 1.25 cup of liquid to 1 cup,of rice. Put in 375 degree oven until rice is nice and fluffy, about an 1/2 hour.

Also, cooked rice freezes very well. I usually cook up about 4 cups of dry rice at a time And freeze it in ziplock bags.
