Log Round Fire http://ift.tt/2hHRhDu I had a few log rounds at my camp ground that had pretty rotted centers so I decided to use one and make a round fire. It's not applicable in a lot of situations without a ton of work, but if the situation presents itself it's a pretty cool fire. First step is to hollow out the rotten center of a round, if it's not rotten this is where the work comes in personally I don't think it's worth the effort. I'm using a round about 1.5' tall and the around the same width. Next make a pretty deep channel and build a fire at the end of it. Once your fire is going good and you've made coals roll the log on top of the channel and feed the coals into the top of the log. Then I just start feeding Kindling into the top hole, eventually this thing gets cooking. It produces a nice warm flame and can be easily controlled by reducing air flow or adding fuel. http://ift.tt/2hMbxkt Add a grill and it's a great cooking surface. It's easy to put out but cutting of the air flow too. It's not for every situation but it's a fun one.
