Hi r/cooking! I have been talking about a sous-vide cooker for a while now and my wife mistakenly got me this steam cooker instead.
I am a pretty competent in the kitchen, but this thing looks like an extraordinarily overpriced rice cooker to me. Since I'm really not big on steamed food I don't have much experience to go on.
So, it's time to expand horizons. Can anyone out there who has one of these things (or something like it) tell me what I can make with it that goes beyond simply throwing vegetables in there?
I've thought I could maybe use it for homemade pastrami...
