New to Paganism

Hello,

I was just wondering what books are good for someone new to paganism. I've always (sort of) been in a pagan-ish mindset I think, but never put effort into anything. I'm interested in earth-based things, and I am a vegan (mostly) but I realize there is a cycle to life on this planet. I also just want to read about what pagans think about the afterlife or gods or ghosts, etc.

Personally, heaven sounds boring so it's never been something I believe in, but I do believe in an afterlife and possibly reincarnation at some point. I don't know what I think about magic, I suck at cooking, I don't know what herbs do what or what crystals do what, etc. I don't know anything, basically haha!

Most religions seem to want you to place some god as number one in your life. After meeting my S.O., who I sincerely believe I was fated to meet and luckily followed the right path to do so, I know that will never happen for me. Nothing can ever go above him in my heart, but I still am interested in god(s) an spirituality, especially in connection to nature and the earth and stars. Are most pagan traditions more lax about this "put no others before me" mentality that all other religions seem to hold?

Thanks for any replies and help! Have a good holiday, and winter solstice, though I think it's late to be saying that haha
