The Failure

INTRO

Especially after you unplug, you start to remember how much cool shit there is to do in the world. Personally, I hate going to sleep because it means I have to disconnect from whatever I’m doing for six or seven hours. Sleep is boring - life is fucking dope.

Mental freedom means you have the capacity to picture a deeply fulfilling lifestyle in your mind, and then take the actions required to bring this vision to life in the real world. Of course, our notions of the ‘high life’ will differ (since we’re individuals, unlike the Blue Pill herd masses).

The inability to create a bomb-ass lifestyle in this world of abundance is truly a Great Failure.

BODY

You need to get in the habit of making each moment excellent. That sounds vague, but over time I have observed that Nature hates when we waste time and float by on autopilot. Many people spend their days in a state of low-consciousness, taking actions that are rationally sub-optimal.

For example, I used to come home from work and order food a lot. In my mind, I didn’t have the time or energy to cook a full dinner each night. Over time, this caused me to gain weight and waste money (though I didn’t make the connection between ordering and its consequences while it was happening).

Part of my self-improvement journey has involved going straight to the grocery store after work, and then cooking a good dinner every night. I am amazed at how - after a couple weeks - this habit of cooking became not only easy, but extremely enjoyable. I have bomb-ass dinners every night now. Steak and potatoes, shrimp with cajun sauce, chicken parm made from scratch, delicious fruit smoothies, the list goes on.

What’s striking about making dinner is that it’s actually easier than ordering once you get into the habit of it. You eliminate the 40 minutes of dead time while waiting for delivery, gain a skill that is endlessly useful, and feel healthier every day. Why would I ever want to go back to ordering pizza?

The same mentality I applied to cooking dinner must be applied to every facet of life. You want to continue “leveling up” so that you reach more refined levels of existence.

THE FAILURE

What holds most guys back is the Blue Pill idea of relativism. This dogma holds that there is no objective truth. For instance, a Blue Piller would not concede that cooking steak and potatoes is an objectively better use of time than ordering dominos and watching TV. He would claim that we can all do whatever we want, and if he “feels like” eating junk for the rest then he should be able to do so without any consequences.

I’m here to tell you that there is objective truth. Put the Xbox controller down, cook a man’s dinner every night, and then pick up a book and study something interesting. Watch as Blue Piller’s desperately cling to their squirts of dopamine from their screens and drugs and other time wasters while claiming it’s all relative.
