Looking at Tiny Houses again since work is looking like it may take me to a more rural area with plenty of land options. Sketched up a floor plan and wondering if anyone would care to make suggestions or improvements:
25 x 8 with entrance on the side using a sliding patio door on one wall and a standard entry on the other. Over that entry way would be a 8x8 loft, thinking that would allow substantial headroom in the living room and kitchen areas and give a nice divide to the space. Some kind of spiral or other stair system to access the loft.
One side would be a living space with a fold out couch for the possibility of an overnight guest. There would also be a 3x8 storage closet that would have access through a pocket door as well as an outside door - thinking mechanicals could live there as well as a spot to hang a bike.
Other side would be the kitchen - 17-22" RV range, some type of drawer base for knives and other cooking utensils, a chest freezer converted to solar fridge which could also offer additional counter space with a removable counter top. The opposite side would be a counter top with the sink and double as an eating space, just slide a set of bar stools under the counter.
