Bronson vs Preech

"Hammers put you in the ground like Whackamole" Bronson is the new hype in Australia these days. He's still a rookie but his writing shows a ton of potential and his performance is capable as well. Preech is rapping fine but not throwing any punches and struggling to get a reaction. I empathize with this a lot lol. Bronson is a monster though, I mentioned him on my list of prospects to watch in 2017.

Nes vs Aksel

Aksel. He still surprises me. The guy is electric. I can't think of many people in the world doing his style of performance. It's like his rounds are on fast forward. I feel like Nes held his own, he shows flashes of great personality, especially with his freestyles. Interesting to see if this gets picked up when it's on youtube.

Proto vs Nymphlow

Proto killed it here, great charisma and pace to his material. Some of the jokes didn't hit and it's funny to see Dwiz react or not react but overall I enjoyed Proto's work. Nymphlow had a solid mix of jokes and bars, he even threw in a decent rebuttal of the expected name flips. Solid undercard battle, no chokes, style clash.

Shadz vs Matt Klein

In the vlog I said I didn't know Shadz but now watching it I remember this guy, he's great. Shadz is comfortable lobbing jokes at the crowd and generally getting a warm response. Matt is a good match for Shadz but he seems to be focused on battle bars over jokes, especially in his first and third. Shadz killed this, really impressed with his original material and relaxed almost drunken master style of delivery.

Cortext vs Jiburish

Jibs is dope. Cortext was cooking though. Great first round from both and Jiburish starts his second with some quality flips, he's not a rookie idk why Cor called him that. Pretty big choke after those flips but with a little time Jibs wins the crowd back and ends on a high note. Cortext comes back that much stronger. His clarity and delivery, he does everything very well. Jiburish takes his time winning the crowd back but he does and it's pretty funny. Cortext is on another level, legit best performance I've seen from him.

Bonnie Godiva vs Eljay

Bonnie does her thing and Eljay dives right into dissecting the battle of the sexes. Normally that's pretty hit and miss but I felt like he survived it. Bonnie follows that by choking but somehow she gets the crowd back right away and finishes the round strong. Eljay seems determined to be offensive in this round and I feel it really didn't work. I don't know how I would have done it better, I don't know if it can be done. He brings it around somehow in the third, I don't know how, he does alright in the third and closes the battle well.

Dunn D vs Head Ice

Dunn D builds the energy in his first expertly. He is a vet and plays the crowd to perfection. This is his arena, these are his people and it starts the match off on the right note. Ice puts on a great performance, everyone is receptive to his style, this is a very well suited main event. Dunn D is spectacular in his second, great balance, every joke hits. One of his best performances here. This is an impressive back and forth, this battle should do solid numbers. I don't even wanna spoil it, definitely recommend renting these battles and helping to support the Australian scene.

Great event, lots of dope new talent and career performances.
