want to get jacked, completely confused

I'm sick of getting my ass kicked. My dad was a personal trainer for 20+ years and a body builder that placed nationally but he barely talks to me and whenever I ask him questions he just gives me vague answers about routine and eating right.

I've been trying to read online but everything I read contradicts eachother or is just vague bullshit. I enrolled in a weight lifting class in school (which just started yesterday) but its literally nothing, the teacher just told us to lift weights and track our progress and thats the entire class, its only 45 minutes a day 3 days a week. People dont get in good shape working out 45 minutes a day 3 days a week.

On top of this, i dont even know if I have proper form or not, but I feel like I don't. My entire body aches.

I feel like I should get a personal trainer just once or twice but I feel like thats still a waste of money. As I stated earlier everything I read seems contradictive and indecisive. If I can get a good routine, I'll stick to it. I also know literally nothing about cooking and dont know where to start. I'm sick of being a skinny pussy. I'm currently 24 and 5 10 and 165 pounds.

Sorry to come here and bitch, I am completely frustrated right now, but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of how to start getting in better shape.
